The thought of ‘travel is only for the moneyed’ is a bummer and I negate. First, there’s a thing called saving up for a trip a year in advance and a seat sale where you can snag airline tickets for 3 countries for only P6,000. Yes, including tax.
And oh, if you can make do w/ a jurassic phone for years and a once in a blue moon shopping for new clothes or less dine outs in exchange of dough for hostel nights and a stingy pocket money, I think you’ll survive.
And honey, you know that feeling when you get home after your ‘dream’ trip and you have no freakin idea on how you survived with that measly bank account, and unbelievably, you still did—it’s priceless. Literally and figuratively.
And I think if you really, really, really want something, you can and will find a way. I think your next step is just to make a move. One step at a time. Travel when you’re still young and able, and not swimming with money but sadly, old with the brittlest bones. I know it’s hell easier said than done, but you get my drift?
